On Weds, I Finally received my DVDs of Invasion!  The first disc I turned to was disc 6 with INVADING THE MIND OF SHAUN CASSIDY. What I thought would be a "day in the life of" Shaun was more a discetion of the motives of the characters & the psychological view of the show.  

   I really liked just seeing Shaun talk about his life & how he brought it to the scenes in the show, his ideas on comparing the alienation of a split family to the "aliens" in the show, & what the other actors thought of him & his creativity.

WHAT A JULY! I am now 12 months away from AARP!  Between my meetings with Shirley & Patrick, this is going to be quite a newsletter.  Plus, I'm finally in touch with Jake, which is going to give this newsletter a whole new feel.
   I had a 4-day birthday weekend, with a get-together with friends on Fri, Joseph tickets as an early birthday gift on Sat. a family get together on Sun with gifts & cake, and now, who knows what will happen today?  
   I just want to thank all of you, my friends, for being here to help celebrate with me.

An Afternoon With Patrick

On Saturday July 15th, I had a chance to see Patrick in Joseph with my friend Doris. She had not ordered a ticket yet, hoping that good seats were still available. She waited while I asked for an upgrade, then we asked for seats together. We managed to get front row on the aisle! The show was great, & Patrick’s 6-pack abs were a show all their own! I loved Patrick’s expressions as well. I did notice that Patrick was wearing grey socks and black dance shoes with his loin cloth!
Michelle Montour, who is raising money for Jack’s Star on the Walk of Fame, gave me the assignment of getting a T-shirt & CD autographed, & Thanks to Brad Haven of Joseph’s Tour Staff, I was able to! After meeting Amy Adams, his co-star, Patrick came out of his dressing room & agreed to a photo with my friend Doris & me. I told him we’d been discussing whether he should pose with our without his shirt, & he said “With shirt-I’m shirtless long enough on-stage!”
While speaking with Patrick, I learned several things:
** He wears contacts (he misidentified me when he came out of his dressing room)
**Shaun took Juliet to the show on Friday night (missed him by THAT much!)
**He’s homeless at the moment. He’s going to be looking for a new home after the tour (I kidded him & suggested Banning, but he laughed & said he needed a place closer to auditions!)
Patrick signed the CD & T shirt for Michele to auction for Jack’s star, plus my CD, & one that Doris had bought for Gerry, and then we walked to the other side of the theater where we met up with Melissa, who posed for pics, and also signed the T-shirt & CD.
I thank all involved with setting up this meeting for their support!

I just returned from a concert in our community, given by Shirley Jones. She opened the show with a DVD of her career highlights, starting with the In Search of the Partridge Family Shirley segment, merging into a film of her Emmy Presentation from 1961, with scenes from her musicals & love scenes with her leading men, while Frank Sinatra sang "Have you Met Miss Jones". She perfirmed in a blue formal dress with silver beading and silver fringe on the sleeves. Her repritoire were familar songs from Oklahoma, the music man and Carousel, with I"m in love with a wonderful guy from her stage debut in South Pacific. Other highlights were Send in the Clowns, written by Steven Sondheim, whom she said she dated, You Made Me Love You, and a bit of C'mon Get Happy.
After the hour long set, she traded in her stage costume for a comfortable pink sweat suit. As she passed me on the way to the autograph table, where she was signing her Shirley Jones CD, her eyes lit up with recognition as she said "I thought you'd be here." She autographed my CD as I posted for pictures with her. you can see them at Shirley Jones pics Then she told me some interesting news about Shaun & Tracy that I couldn't share before now-- they are having another baby in September!
Next week, I"ll be seeing Patrick in Joseph! I can't wait!

Bad News

Well, the bad news has come-- Invasion has left the building. Now we'll never know which hybrids will live & which will die. At least we have the DVDs to look forward to in August. I have left word with Shaun's people that I am anxious to hear about any new projects he's working on.

I am getting ready to see the finale of American Idol, live at the Kodak theater, next week. I've attended 2 rehersal tapings so far & this is the most I've ever been involved in this season. But this is the first time I will be live on the air. I can't wait!

Happy Mothers Day to all Cassidy fans who are mothers, along with Shirley, Evelyn, Sue, Ann, Susan, Melissa, & Tracey.I'm sorry this wish is late, but I wanted to post after I heard about Invasion.

HAPPY APRIL! 11 Years ago This month, I officially converted my club for Shaun (FRIENDS OF SHAUN CASSIDY) to FRIENDS OF THE CASSIDYS, incorperating more news of the other Cassidy members into the newsletters. We also started collecting money for the Leukemia Society and Kidscharities.org.

We are also celebrating Sue and David's birthdays this month. I wish them all the best.

I just learned that Shirley will will be coming to the private community we moved into late last year. I can't wait to see her again.

This is a Big month, with 2 children, one wife, 2 grandparents celebrating birthdays, & one Aunt & Uncle Celebrating a Wedding Anniversary. Caleb turns 1, Juliet turns 8, Tracy celebrates her birthday, Marty & Shirley both celebrate birthdays, and David & Sue celebrate their 15th Anniversary as Man & Wife! Plus, we get 2 episodes of Invasion in a row! What a perfect way to celebrate.

I finally got a copy of Patrick's CD soundtrack of Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat & Love it. It comes to CA this summer & I can't wait.

I have Finally gotten the February newsletter to the printer, & have decided to put it out at the end of the month from now on, to make sure the news is fresher. I hope you don't mind.
